Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was great! My parents and Bryson were in town for over a week, which was AWESOME! I don't get to see them very often and when I do it's usually only for about a week, so any time longer than that is a treat! They obviously stayed at Chey and Tim's house, but a few nights Bryson crashed on the couch in Peggy and Jay's basement with us. I love these pictures of Bry because it depicts his personality perfectly. He is in love with two things: (besides girls of course) 1) Slurpee's and, 2) his nieces and nephews. Cannon thought it was so cool to have Uncle Bry read him stories. Thanks for being a good sport and reading to him Bry!

As usual we spend Christmas Eve with Josh's family. Josh invited his friend Bob. His only family, his daughter, is still on her mission and doesn't get home until summer. Everybody was able to make it and Josh had to lead the family in his favorite activity of singing The 12 Days of Christmas.

Christmas morning was as exciting as ever! Cannon LOVED all of his presents and he kept talking about how Santa gave them to him! He is at a fun age where he is starting to grasp the concept a little better and it makes it SO much fun!

This year Christmas was on a Sunday, so after Cannon opened his presents we headed to church, then we went out to Chey and Tim's to be with my family Christmas Day. This year Vic brought his girlfriend, Catherine. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of her! She is so stinking cute and they are cute together! (We will have to see what happens with that.) Cannon of course had a blast opening more presents.

Ahh...my boys! After all the festivities they crashed! Both soo tired. Poor Josh, he never gets a day of just resting. I adore them both to pieces and I am so grateful for all of the hard work that Josh is doing so he can accomplish is goals and dreams. I LOVE YOU BOYS!

Halloween

Cannon was Woody from Toy Story for Halloween this year. He LOVED his vest that I made him and you can't see in the pictures but he is wearing his favorite cowboy boots. I was actually not feeling well at ALL... morning sickness was REALLY bad. (Especially since it was NOT just in the morning... all day and even in the night! Soo different from Cannon.) Anyway, everyone met up at Jay and Peggy's then Josh took us all around to the "good houses" that give out good candy. We also were able to go to the BACK door of the "Mafia Guy's" house because I just started working with his daughter. The "Mafia Guy" is what they call him because he talks like Al Pacino with the raspy tone. But he gives out TONS of candy and the wait in front of his house is usually a good 2 hours long! So going to the back door was a big deal, we got the candy but didn't have to wait. All the kids thought it was pretty cool and Cannon was in heaven getting all the candy!

Weber State Fireworks!

One of our FAVORITE things to do in the summer is go to the Weber State Fireworks! They do them annually right around July 24th. Josh and his Dad always go the day before and save a spot for the whole family. Most of the fun is in just waiting around for the fireworks and visiting and playing games.

There's always lots of food to go around while waiting too!

Red, White and Blue!

4th of July!

We spent the 4th swimming at Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Jay's pool! Cannon absolutely LOVES his cowboy hat from Grandpa Ed and had to wear it everywhere.
Here is Cannon with Jayben, helping Grandpa Jay clean the pool after a busy day. What a good helper!

After a day of food and swimming, we went to Ben and Janessa, and Ash and Jake's neighborhood to do fireworks. Josh and Ben had a blast buying explosives. (I guess it's a guy thing. My Dad has always been the same way.)

Cannon  LOVED stomping on the pop-its, but once the big fireworks started he got nervous and wouldn't leave my lap. This year they legalized some pretty large aerial fireworks and I think it was the neighbors setting off those big ones that made him so nervous.

Easter!

We had a BLAST with Cannon this year! He loved watching the eggs dye the different colors! It was perfect because we have been working on the different colors with him, so we were able to show him all the different colors! He is very independent and wants to do everything by himself. I can tell he will soon be 2!

After breakfast we let Cannon find his Easter basket. This year the Easter Bunny brought him a couple of Disney movies (and just in time because they were about to go into the Disney vault), some candy, bubbles and a book about Jesus! He loved it all! After church we went to eat dinner at the Whitesides. Before we ate the kids went on an Easter egg hunt! It was soo cute to watch them all! Cannon collected a lot more eggs than I thought. Although Josh did help him so I am sure that had something to do with it! Although with all the candy Cannon didn't have much interest in eating dinner. After we ate and visited for a while we went home and Cannon ended up throwing up. He kept looking at us as saying "thow-up" and "hurt" as he was holding his tummy. That's what just candy will do to you. He felt better after he threw up and ate some real food before going to bed. He, as well as WE, learned good food is a MUST.

Valentine's Day

This year was my year for Valentine's Day. (Josh and I alternate who plans Valentine's Day and our Anniversary every year. Last year I planned our Anniversary so this year I was in charge of Valentine's Day.) Anyway, a few days before we had decided that this May we are going to go on a cruise! So along with that we weren't going to get each other gifts for Valentine's Day, Anniversary, Mother's Day and Father's Day; because the cruise counts for ALL of them! I still wanted to do something special for my honey because he is constantly doing little things for me, even without a holiday that tells you to do something. So while Josh was at work, and while Cannon was napping, I decorated our room with hearts! I put a note on the door with a letter below it that I wrote for him expressing my feelings of adoration.

Here is what the door looked like. Below is what our bedroom looked like.

Funny thing about this is that I didn't tell Josh that I did anything because he usually comes home and goes upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes. But of course he didn't this time! Then he was looking at some pictures of Cannon that I had taken that day, on the camera, and I had forgotten that I had taken the above pictures and told him to look at some from another day that were on there of Cannon. So he looked up at me and asked if he was suppose to see these pictures. So I ruined the little surprise! haha I couldn't believe that I had forgotten I had taken the pictures. Needless to say he went upstairs right after that and saw it. Just a little something fun.

Easter Sunday

Our official Easter festivities began the night before Easter. I knew that involving Cannon with dying the eggs this year would be just me telling him "No" to everything. So once the little boy went to bed, Josh and I dyed our Easter eggs. We each did three, and I was thinking of what designs I could do that would grab Cannon's attention and of course had to do one with Cannon's name on it to put in his Easter basket. As you can see from the pictures below, Josh had other things on his mind....(Although, I must admit it made me laugh when he pulled the egg out of the dye and his "secret message" was revealed.)

The next morning Cannon woke up to find his Easter basket on the family room floor. (The Easter Bunny I am sure knew he wouldn't understand the concept of finding a basket...quite yet.) He found eggs with candy, bubbles for the summer time, as well as a FUN blue ball! Then, of course, what does he like the most...the Easter grass in his basket! haha

After General Conference we went over to Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Jay's house for dinner. Then we had an Easter egg hunt. Cannon was pretty oblivious to the whole idea but Josh was so cute to take him around and help him "find" eggs. Below you will see Cannon with all his cousins on that side of the family.

The following pictures are of me and Josh just messing around. We started to take pictures of us and then we were laughing because we kept making close to the same face without planning it.

Then Josh wanted a picture of with Lucky. Lucky isn't exactly a dog that enjoys being held, but when the picture was revealed we laughed soo hard because Josh and Lucky were making the same face! haha

Happy Halloween!

Here are our pumpkins that we carved for this Halloween. Just like we always do... mine is the more simplistic design and Josh goes all out. But his do always end up looking AWESOME! Way to go babe!
We were Sonny and Cher!

And a Teddy Bear!!

Boy, it's hard trying to draw a nose on a little boy. But with Dad's help, and after an unhappy Cannon (just for a minute)... I was able to accomplish it.

Cannon wouldn't look at the camera every time we tried to get a picture of him. The flash would go off and he would look away. So this is the best picture we got of him. We had a fun evening and saw some pretty awesome costumes. All of the nieces and nephews were adorable, as usual. Then Ben and Ness were Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife. (I saw Ben's costume and was very impressed, and I am certain Ness' was just as impressive.) Then Jona and Gloria were pirates... I meant to grab a picture of them, but forgot! Then there was Cass and Tay... only a picture can describe their costumes...

AWESOME...huh?!
